This online course provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles and practices of Advanced Life Support (ALS). Designed to complement hands-on training, it covers key topics such as recognizing and managing medical emergencies, advanced airway techniques, cardiac arrest algorithms, and post-resuscitation care. Through interactive modules, case studies, and self-assessments, participants will develop the knowledge and confidence to apply ALS protocols effectively in critical situations.
There are 3 sessions:
- Online
- Module 1: Introduction to advance life support
- Module 2: Recognizing the critically ill patients
- Module 3: Basic life support
- Modules 4: Managing the airway
- Module 5: Rhythm recognition and defibrillation
- Modules 6: Post resuscitation care
- Simulation Session (Physical)
- Total training time: 2 hours
- Station 1: BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
- Station 2: RHYTHM RECOGNITION & DEFIBRILLATION
- Assignment
- Consists of 25 Single Best Answers
- Candidate must score 60% or above to obtain and download the Certificate of Completion
Entry criteria
Completed MBBS or need to register as medical practitioner in Sri Lanka
For the successful completion the below should be achieved:
- Need to complete Pre-course MCQ test
- Completion of session 1 online
- Satisfactory completion of simulation session [ will be Certified by Consultant Emergency physician]
- Obtain 60%or more for Post course assessment.

This online course provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles and practices of haematology, designed to enhance clinical decision-making and patient management. The programme covers essential topics such as pancytopaenia, haematological issues in pregnancy, bleeding disorders, and anticoagulation management. Through interactive modules, case studies, and self-assessments, participants will develop the knowledge and confidence to apply evidence-based haematological practices in clinical settings.
Course Structure:
Online Sessions
- Anaemia
- Anticoagulation: Indications, Monitoring, and Management of Complications
- Diagnosis and Management of Bleeders
- Haematological issues in pregnancy
- Haematological malignancies
- Pancytopaenia
- Haemoglobinopathies
Assessment
- After each module there will be a short assignment
- Passing Criteria: Candidates must score 60% or above to obtain and download the Certificate of Completion
Entry Criteria
- MBBS qualification or registered medical practitioner in Sri Lanka
Successful Completion Requirements
- Full participation in online sessions
- Score 60% or above on each module.
